"Jenne' makes the most interesting dishes and every one is absolutely wonderful! I was a little apprehensive at first since I am truly a meat eater; but, the meals she prepared were quite tasty - sunflower seed pate' wrapped with collard greens, sweet potato w/ delicata squash soup (split pea base); quinoa w/ chickpeas and miso; and ginger tempeh with onions. "Jenné’s grocery store tour opened my eyes to whole new way of eating healthier and buying the right produce. I was amazed at how much information I learned during the tour and at how easy it is to increase your nutrition by simply choosing a healthier alternative. For example, Jenné taught me that instead of buying traditional green kale (which is still very good for you), I should go for the purple kale, which has the same nutritional value as green kale but contains anthocyanins! Jenné also addressed my specific concerns; she advised that I eat local honey and stop eating bananas to decrease my seasonal allergies. I can say that I saw a drastic change in my allergies by just following her simple advice. I also wanted to learn about sugar substitutes; Jenné was kind enough to introduce me to healthy sweeteners. In addition, she shared several great recipes that included these sweet alternatives. "As a vegetarian for more than 20 years and on a vegan diet for nearly 20 years on top of that, I've eaten vegetable curry all over the country, but none so good as the Massaman Vegetable Curry prepared by Jenne Claiborne. Two friends and I hired Jenne to prepare dinner for us---and wow, did she! Firm and chewy, the fresh vegetables had just the perfect amount of Thai curry, and the accompanying brown rice was both moist and firm, cooked to perfection. My friends and I were disappointed that Jenne just made one big bowl of the curried vegetables. Jenne also rolled scrumptious collard green wraps, the raw vegetables nicely tempering the heat of the curry. For dessert Jenne prepared Chocolate Coconut Pudding, and for people who usually don't eat dessert, we couldn't get enough of this either; not too sweet, just the right creamy consistency, it topped off a delicious meal.
